So it was confirmed at blizzcon, mists of pandaria is the next expansion:

-level cap increased to 90
-new race of pandarens that can be on either faction
-new monk class
-challenge dungeons
-pve scenarios

Pandaren Classes: Hunter, Mage, Monk, Priest, Rogue, Shaman, Warrior
Racial - Epicurean - Increase the stat benefits from food by 100%
Racial - Gourmand - Cooking skill increased by 15.
Racial - Inner Peace - Your rested experience bonus lasts twice as long.
Racial - Bouncy - You take 50% less falling damage.
Racial - Quaking Palm - You touch a secret pressure point on an enemy target, putting it to sleep for 3 sec.

I'll add more when more is heard.

monk class: not hero class, starts at level 1
3 specs
brewmaster - tank
mistweaver - healer - sounds like they are trying to make it different from the usual healing
windwalker - melee dps
lots of monk only animations
strangely, the only races that can't be monks are goblins and worgen.
use hands and feet to fight, but still weapons for finisher moves.
chi (energy) as resource for moves
class has no autoattack

Big Asian influence for the look of this one.

Apparently pandaren starting zone is on a giant turtle.

talents are getting a big revamp, lot of talent abilities are just given to you.
only one talent tree per class
one talent every 15 levels
every talent choose 1 of 3
no mandatory talents
change talents as easy as glyphs
so at the end you are getting 6 talents, 18 things to choose from, only 1 per row.

adding challenge mode dungeons
can earn medals and special no stat gear, merely to setup for looks.
Apparently will also be leaderboards.

can collect, level, and battle companion pets as a side game.
can collect wild pets to get them, some may only get in special conditions like rain, at night, during a certain season.
Sounds like they want to put pokemon in WoW, I'm not kidding, every little bit they described sounds exactly like pokemon.

dungeons:
9 new dungeons
6 in pandaria
heroic scholomance
heroic scarlet monastery

raids:
3 new raid areas

world raid bosses coming back

pvp:
new battlegrounds:
stranglethorn diamond mines - moneyball
goblin mine in northern stv
escorting mine carts to depot, multiple tracks
first to most resources wins

valley of power - murderball
capturing artifact, long object is held, more points earned, more earned if held in specific areas.

Azshara Crater - DOTA

Tolvir Proving Grounds arena

account wide achievements, stuff earned across multiple characters.

major class changes:
resilience will now be a base stat as well, so you get some while leveling up.
ranged weapons:
hunter minimum range is gone.
hunter melee weapon is gone.
ranged slot for all other classes is gone, including relics etc.
rogues and warriors throw melee weapon.
wands are main hands

warlocks:'
unique resource for every spec
affliction - soul shards
demonology - demonic fury - demon form becoming a bigger thing, used more
destruction - infernal embers - builds up to big nuke.

shaman:
buff totems gone, more innate buffs
root totems
repulsion totems
bulwark totem absorbs damage

druid:
has 4 specs
feral melee dps (cat)
guardian (bear)
some overlap
basically dividing the feral tree in two.

spells:
don't have to go to trainer anymore.

now what the hell do i do, i have 10 toons with 10 classes i would have to delete one of my toons to make room for a monk class.

looks like monk class is a remake of druid or pallidan with out the shape shifting.

Thanks for the info. I can't access much internet right now so this is very much appreciated.

Are we hunters really losing our stat-sticks?

Hasn't been anything said on that, supposedly they've been working no this one a bit more beforehand more than in the past when announcing expansions.  If I were to make a wild guess I'd say summer of next year.

Are we hunters really losing our stat-sticks?

I heard that hunters will get quivers in place of melee weapons. Don't worry if you use a gun instead of a bow, because the quiver does not hold arrows, it holds stats bonuses.

Lots of new info from the press event held at Blizzard HQ last week!

Take your pick when it comes to getting the news:
http://wow.joystiq.com/2012/03/19/wow-insiders-mists-of-pandaria-coverage/
http://www.wowheadnews.com/blog=201616/mists-of-pandaria-2012-press-event-full-monk-talents-revealed-and-more
http://www.mmo-champion.com/content/

I like what I see, although more character slots would have been nice (you get an 11th with MoP).

What do you think of all this?

use hands and feet to fight, but still weapons for finisher moves.
chi (energy) as resource for moves note that light chi/dark chi was removed. Now energy is the resource except for Mistweavers, who will use mana. Chi is still used similarly to combo points
class has no autoattack autoattack is back

Big Asian influence for the look of this one.

Tolvir Proving Grounds arena

account wide achievements, stuff earned across multiple characters.
it sounds like non-combat pets are leveled across all characters too

addition of several appearance-changing glyphs for druid forms and paladin judgements

not much said for professions, other than Cooking specialization and an Archaeology faction.

invites will be based upon when you purchased annual pass and how long you've been playing wow. so unless they count my 3 month hiatus against me, i should get my invite yesterday.
